At Itility, we prioritize delivering effective solutions while also caring for our environment and the people around us. We make no empty promises – at Itility, we deliver. This commitment is why we have adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by signing the SDG charter. The SDG charter includes 17 sustainable goals of which we integrate many within our working environment. Discover more about our initiatives supporting these goals below.

Saving energy
Optimizing energy usage
We recognize the need for energy transition toward renewable energy for future generations. This is why we have invested quite some hours, to convert our autonomous growing optimization algorithm into an energy optimization algorithm.
With this innovation, households and building owners can save up to 20% on energy by optimizing their energy systems (such as heat pumps, solar panels, and car chargers) to balance energy usage and supply. We call this solution ‘EnTune’ and are currently working to make it available in the Netherlands.
Share and care
We simply love trees
Reducing our carbon footprint, we offer shared mobility options to our Itilians to decrease car ownership. We invest in electric lease cars and plant trees annually to offset our CO2 emissions, with each new Itilian planting their own Itili-tree to foster a sustainable future. This initiative is in partnership with Boes Bos, a Dutch organization dedicated to planting as many trees as possible.
Additionally, we collaborate with Voedselbos Eindhoven, where we have established our own Itility-forest, planting one tree for each Itilian. We are also exploring other food forest options, as we believe that regenerative agriculture solutions are essential for sustaining the planet’s food supply in a sustainable way.

Educate the future
Student collaborations
We care about our technical future, about ‘delivering’ the next generation of digital twins. So we work closely with TU/e, taking part in student projects such as electric motor STORM and solar car Stella Vie, and delivering data science lectures to students.
Hope Foundation India
We support Hope Foundation India, a private foundation that has established a home for children from the slums. We sponsor Priyanka and Deepak, a brother and sister who receive shelter and education in Hope Home.
In addition, we visited the Hope Home in Dehra Dun to install computers we bought for the home.
And each year, we organize a Christmas fundraiser to make needed purchases for the home; such as an intercom/security system, a garage for the school bus, and a kitchen renovation.
Coding for kids
Furthermore, we teach the children of our Itilians and customers how to code using BBC Micro:bit. Because code is not only important within ‘our’ world. It’s everywhere. From automatic street lighting and apps that can turn on the heat at home, to small color-changing LED lights. All technology is powered by code.
Value the elderly
We care about the generations before us, who made it possible for us to study, grow, and learn. So, twice a year, we team up with ‘De Zonnebloem’ to share a dinner with 50 seniors, giving everyone a chance to talk, listen, connect, and learn.
In times of corona, we were not able to organize our elderly dinners. This is why we decided to deliver nice bouquets of flowers to the elderly of Stichting de Zonnebloem Eindhoven.
Take responsibility
We care about people who care about good causes. So we have the ‘donate-double’ rule: whenever an Itilian donates to a cause he or she cares about, one of our board members donates the same amount. Itility then matches the total amount.

We support innovative startups in Earth observation that strive to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, such as eLEAF, NEO, and 52Impact. As a tech company, our consultants work on projects for clients, specifically in the Manufacturing, AgriTech, and Energy industries. We consciously select these sectors to leverage our technological expertise toward creating sustainable value and making a positive impact to the world.

Previous projects
Helping Ukraine
When the war started, we wanted to help Ukraine. We did so by temporarily housing a Ukraine refugee family, by opening a special vacancy for refugees, by donating to a Polish organization that feeds and houses refugees at the border. One of our Itilians even drove there 3 times with a truck filled with blankets, medicine, clothing, and food. He also coordinated a fund raising so we could support the organization to buy 2 ambulances.
Electric driving on solar
In addition to driving electric as Itilians, another example of sustainable mobility is 4x4Electric. Renske and Maarten want to show that driving electric is possible everywhere, even when there is no electricity. For that, they converted a regular electric car into a solar-charged car.
And they have already proven it works by driving from the north of Africa all the way to South Africa, charging 54% on their own solar panels. Proud to be sponsoring this trip and showing facts and figures on a dashboard on their website.
Cadena de Talentos
Quality education, unfortunately, is not accessible to everyone. Cadena de Talentos is an organization that invests in young, disadvantaged talents between the ages of 15 to 20 from Lima (Peru). Itility has sponsored student Alexander Cruz Quintana, who will go to the University of Federico Villarreal to become a veterinarian.
The sponsoring ensures Alexander can pay his education, equipping him with the tools required to improve the quality of life for himself and the people around him.
Nepal school lunch
After the earthquake in Nepal, we connected with a local organization, to provide free lunch for school children at the Namuna Janasewa school. With that, children were ensured one good meal a day. This not only motivated them to attend school, but also helped them concentrate better.
Extra funds were used for cookware and visits from a doctor for checkups and providing information on healthy nutrition.
